What is SAML?

Why is SAML important?

SAML is an open standard which allows one service to share security credentials with another. It’s commonly used as a way to enable SSO (Single Sign-On). It makes it easier for users to access multiple applications or systems with a single credential and optimizes their workflow. This also adds security by reducing the number of credentials that need to be managed and transferred across services.
