California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA)
What is CCPA?
CCPA is a state data privacy law patterned after the EU GDPR. It protects the privacy rights of California residents and gives California consumers more control over the collection and use of their personal information.
Why is CCPA important?
The CCPA gives California residents the right to know what personal data is collected about them, and how it’s being used by businesses. They have the right to opt out of their data being collected and sold, and can request that it is deleted. The goal of the law is to protect consumers and their personal information, as well as require greater transparency from businesses about how they use personal data.
